With my couponing, I tend to have weeks when I can find a lot of things that we need and weeks that are lighter. This week was a lighter week.

I normally love Target, but this was the third week in a row when the closest location didn’t have the items that I needed. I’m about to just give up on this particular Target and drive to the one that is further away. Unfortunately, none of the items I had wanted to coupon this week were available.

I had a better experience at Walmart this week. No one rammed into my shopping cart, and a very kind lady who was purchasing a week’s worth of groceries told me to go ahead of her in line.

This week’s deals

Bob’s Red Mill Flaxseed Meal, Original Price: $2.56

Final Price: $1.56

How I did it: I used a $1.00 off printable coupon. Flaxseed meal is used frequently in Trim Healthy Mama recipes, so I was pleased to find a coupon for it.

Truvia Natural Sweetener, Original Price: $3.46

Final Price: $0.04 moneymaker!

How I did it: I used a $1.50 off coupon from the newspaper. Then I submitted my receipt to Ibotta and earned a $1.00 credit. I also submitted the receipt to Checkout 51 and earned an additional $1.00 credit. All of that made the Truvia completely free, and I actually earned 4 cents! Truvia is another Trim Healthy Mama approved product.

Lady Speed Stick Deodorant, Original Price: $1.98 each

Final Price: $0.99 each

How I did it: I used a buy one, get one free coupon from this week’s Sunday paper. One of the coupon emails I received this week claimed that you could use the coupon on a smaller size of the Lady Speed Stick deodorant, but the coupon from my paper required me to purchase this size of the product or larger. Be sure to pay attention to the fine print on your coupons.

Crest Pro Health Toothpaste, Original Price: $2.97

Final Price: $1.97

How I did it: I used a $0.25 off coupon from the newspaper, and then submitted my receipt to Ibotta and to Checkout 51. Ibotta gave me a $0.75 rebate, but Checkout 51 denied my rebate because I had used a manufacturer’s coupon on the item. Apparently certain Checkout 51 rebates cannot be combined with other coupons. Lesson learned, and I will be sure to check the conditions of my Checkout 51 rebates more carefully next time.

  1. How awesome! I totally need to get into couponing more. Do you shop Walgreens and their ads/coupons/rewards at all? My mom used to do that a lot and I remember she would get tons of great things.
